For over 20
years Christian Assembly has been providing food for families in
Berkshire County. Beginning with just a few meals per month to
families within the church, our Food Pantry now serves over 1,000 meals
per month to families all over Berkshire County.
The Food Pantry is open every Tuesday from 2pm - 4pm, and every Friday from 10am - noon. Families are eligible for food once a month by simply providing a photo ID. No one is ever turned away.
Food and cash
donations are always needed to meet the growing needs of our Pantry.
If you have a food donation, you may drop it off at the church during
pantry operating hours. If you have a cash donation, you can either
drop it off at the church or mail it to Christian Assembly, 850
Williams Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. All cash donations are tax
deductible.

Adopt-A-Block
Christian
Assembly has adopted several blocks in the Morningside area of
Pittsfield. Every other week a team of 20 volunteers goes into the
community to knock on doors and serve. By getting out into the community, meeting people in their homes and
neighborhoods where they live, we are truly able to find their needs
and help them meet them.
Restoring a sense of pride,
Adopt A Block is sort of a "jack-of-all-trades" ministry, from taking
food to families, to helping them do yard work they don't have the
tools to do, from grafitti removal and community clean up through the
tough neighborhoods in Pittsfield, to jump roping with kids on the
street.
Each Saturday volunteers go out and visit homes around the
city, talking with elderly people who are lonely, sharing the love of
Christ with famliles in need, and also helping care for the basic needs
they are facing.
Back 2 School Blessing
At the beginning
of each school year, we throw a huge pizza party and distribute over
100 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need. We also
provide a voucher for new sneakers, and we have local hairdressers and
barbers give haircuts. It's important to us that kids in our community
get the necessary essentials for school. It provides kids with
self-esteem and encouragement as they begin a new school year.
Box of Love
At Thanksgiving
we provide a Box of Love to families in need. In the box is a complete
Thanksgiving dinner, including a Turkey! Families are invited to
worship with us on the third Sunday of November and boxes are
distributed immediately after the service.
Coats 4 Kidz
In 2008 we started something new called Coats 4 Kidz. We collected and
distributed well over 100 coats to children at Conte Community School.
It was made known to us that there were many children that did not have
the basic essentials for the winter. Our hearts were broken to know
that children did not have coats, hats, gloves or boots. We provide
every child that needs a coat, hat, gloves, scarf, snow pants and
boots.
Angel Tree
At Christmastime, volunteers from our church purchase and deliver
gifts to the children of inmates in their parent’s name. Each gift
delivery also presents an opportunity to share the love and hope of
Christ with each family. Through Angel Tree, these children feel a
parent’s love, despite their absence.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope
to children in desperate situations around the world through
gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993,
more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and
delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this
simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of
Christmas—Jesus Christ. Christian Assembly is a donor and relay center for Berkshire County.
Light the Night
Light The Night is a Christian outreach for Halloween Night and an
excellent opportunity to take back ground in which the enemy has
controlled for too long. In allowing our "light" to shine on a very
dark night, it is a simple way to combat that darkness with the love of
Christ. It is also a very non-threatening way to get to know your
neighbors and bless them at the same time. Light the Night is an
outreach in the community and not in the church. Members open up their
homes, decorate their houses with bright lights, and offer food, fun,
games, and of course candy for kids in the community. Kids are
presented with the message of Christ in a very non-threatening way.
Parents and children love it and is a positive event on a very dark
night.
